A first-of-its-kind publication, The Calamansi Story: Filipino Migrants in Australia features a curated collection of original works of essays, stories, recipes, art, and music. Many of the contributors will be published for the first time, alongside three new songs exclusively reproduced from renowned First Nations-Filipino artist, Mojo Ruiz De Luzuriaga’s fourth album, Oro, Plata, Mata.

This is a beautiful compilation of the Filipino-Australian migrant experience, many of which are centred around the nuanced relationships with the matriarchs of the pamilya, and its symbolic connection to the calamansi. Much like this humble fruit, these relationships can be sweet and sour.

To put this book together, we enlisted editorial leadership and insights from sociologist and migration scholar, Kristine Aquino, seasoned arts writer and designer, Mariam Ella Arcilla, and multimedia designer, Maysie Lecciones.

The Calamansi Story epitomises what's possible when purpose, place, people and passion connect and thrive. Through the project, The Entree.Pinays will donate funds towards accredited social enterprise AGREA Philippines.
